Small-cap

Small-cap stocks are related to companies with a market capitalisation between USD 300 million and USD 2 billion. Because of their small size, they tend to be illiquid, as there are few stocks available to trade. Thus, as a result of illiquidity and thin trading, the volatility of these stocks tends to be higher than larger-cap stocks (one trade can significantly affect the price of the stock).
